Help Shape a New Genomics Health Hub for Communities

The NHS North Thames Genomics Medicine Service is creating a new online Genomics Health Hub — a community-centred website designed to make information about genomic medicine and research clearer, fairer and easier to access. They are inviting members of the public to complete a short survey to help shape its design. No prior knowledge of genomics is required.

What is the Genomics Health Hub?
As the NHS expands its use of genomics to improve treatment, prevent disease and guide testing, there is a growing need for reliable, accessible information that the public can understand and trust. The Genomics Health Hub aims to fill that gap by providing a single, easy-to-use website where communities can learn about genomic healthcare and the opportunities it offers.
The project is being led by NHS North Thames Genomics Medicine Service, and a core aim is to ensure that the Hub genuinely reflects the needs and experiences of local communities — not just the priorities of clinicians and researchers.
What the survey involves
The survey is short and straightforward. It asks for your thoughts on different explanations of genomics and genetics — for example, which descriptions are clearest and most helpful. Your responses will directly help shape the language, content and design of the final Hub.
You do not need any background in science or genetics to take part. In fact, the whole point is to hear from people who may be encountering these concepts for the first time, so that the Hub works for everyone.
How to take part
Please take a few minutes to share your views by completing the survey here: Genomics Health Hub survey
Why this matters for the Lynch syndrome community
People living with Lynch syndrome know first-hand how important it is to have clear, trustworthy information about genetics and genomic testing. Many of us have had to navigate complex explanations when receiving a diagnosis, discussing cascade testing with family members, or making decisions about surveillance and prevention. A well-designed Genomics Health Hub could make that journey easier for future patients and families — and your input will help make sure it does.
